CORPORATE
SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Inside COSCO and Corporate Citizenship

Fundraising Gala Dinner and Concert.
OVERVIEW
Since our inception, we view it as our responsibility to
address a range of social, environmental, and ethical
concerns. We believe that this not only helps us in
reaching our long-term goal of creating a brand identity
and enhancing our corporate value, but also benefits
our communities, the environment and stakeholders.
SOCIAL CONTRIBUTIONS
We aim to fulfill our responsibility in the surroundings
we operate in not only by creating a sustainable
environment but also by addressing the needs of the
communities. To make a substantive difference, we aid
communities through charitable events and activities
and supporting worthy causes. We also make it a point
to encourage our employees to share their knowledge
and support for the communities through contribution
in kind and deeds. Through these actions, we believe
we are able to create a significant impact by giving back
to society.
Singapore
COSCO has been a long-time patron of the Singapore
Chinese Orchestra. 2015 marks our fourth year of
sponsorship to the organisation. This year, we donated
towards the annual SCO Fundraising event held on 9
October 2015.
China
At COSCO, we try to maintain our efforts of creating a
sustainable environment. We are able to do this through
our group of companies located in China, which have
been actively involved in various programmes including
youth social welfare and educational advocacies.
COSCO Guangdong has also initiated a clean
production process through advancements made in
green technology such as energy conservation and
waste treatment. This process has been recognised
and commended by the provincial utility board.
We believe that education is not a privilege, but a
right. We are committed to fostering a community
where children, irrespective of socioeconomic status
or background, have full and complete access to
education. In the absence of comprehensive learning
aids at the Wulan Heshuo Town, Liaoning Province,
COSCO Shipyard Group contributed 60 sets of
computers to four primary schools. We believe that
through these, the access to education aids productivity
and will better position children for the future.
CONCLUSION
Despite the challenging year brought about by
unfavorable circumstances, we continued our
Corporate Social Responsibility efforts by staying
involved with community projects, environmental
protection and charities, and supporting worthy causes.
